2003:
Thunderbolt was born in the morning hours (I think) of June 10th 2003. T-bolt has since been registered under
"Peruvian Comit to Vernazza". "Turbo" was a regestered breeder name. He is a very kind cria and straight as a pin. His coloring
and conformation is surpurb. He is all I had hoped for in my first cria (except that he was a boy and not grey).
His dam
has plenty of milk and is the best mother I could ask for in my herd. His color took more after his dad, but is a streigh
accross mix of Rogue and Vernaccia. He is truely a blessing!!
I had no clue of his soon arrival until momorial day weekend
of this year when Vernaccia seemed to be showing signs of an iminent delivery. She developed an uder and her sides seemed
to sink in a bit. She held him for close to 1 year and now I have a little cria in my pasture!
2004:
Well Peruvian Comit to Vernazza is not so little anymore. He is now almost as tall as me but
is no less friendly! He is my baby, & always will be. He even lets me lay on him when he's kushed because he's nothing
but a little sweet heart!
He is now 1 year old & has won 5 ribbons. He has attached himself to Pudgey-as young male
llamas tend to do-& has been let out on our 158 acre ranch to roam with the boys. His gorgeous white fleece is all but
ruined but his well being is much better being out with other studs. He's not a little cria anymore but he soon will be in
his prime & grow into a strong well balanced stud.
Sadly I can't let him out for outside breedings because the other
night I was reading on the back of a registry form for the ILR & discovered that a stud must be blood typed before he
can be used for stud services-& none of my studs have been blood typed, except Chilly Moon. So until I get him blood typed
he will not be open for outside breedings, neither will Pudgey.
Thunderbolt is now reffered to as T-bolt & has a little
half sister out of Deb Garvin's Top of the Mark on the ground, the two are complete night & day, you'd never guess
they were related-but I did get my grey girl, well almost anyway! LOL
2005:
T-bolt has grown into an adult now, almost 2 years old & he is huge. He has
his father's gorgeouse camel feet & his mother's eyes but his dad's face & the pretty fringe on his ears. His profile
is so smooth & beautiful especially when the sun hits his gorgeous black & red head with the few corse white hairs
on the sides of his face. He still has the same little boy expression on his face & looks like a panda with the white
tipped ears & the nose that looks like it's been dipped in frosting!
T-bolt has been gelded so he will stay sweet &
lovable for all his life, he is adjusting relatively well.
He loves to go away & just loves it when people want to
pay attention to him, he loves being in the lime light & having fun. We walk in 2 parades every year & T-bolt is a
smash every time he steps foot off the property!
This year we will be doing fair with his younger half sister "Gabrriella
de Bugatti Bug". Sis is gonna catch all the classes that need exstensive grooming & he's gonna catch all the classes that
requir obstacles as he is rather grungy after a long winter out on the range-his fleece will be next to impossible to comb
out after that.
T-bolt will still grow for another 2 years, I have high hopes of him becoming a cart llama with his dad
when he is mature.
2006:
T-bolt is 3 years old now. He is big, beautiful, handsome & as dossil as ever. He must be 10 times the size
he was when he was born!LOL
He now lives in a pin with his little brother, he's helping his little bro stay in line. He
is a great example and a good leader.
He was a hit at the parades and fair last year but this year he'll be getting the
parades off. Stetson (little bro) will be marching in his place. He might not like that to much but he'll be glad when fair
comes!
He hasn't changed any from the sweet little T-bolt he was when he was a baby! He was gelded last year and it was
the best thing I could have done for him. He is a level headed adult now.
He is growing into a very big boy & has
a bright future in carting and obstacle. He still has one more year to grow and he is way taller than me. I have to get on
my tip toes to kiss the lobe of his ear & I'm about 5'8! He will be even bigger next year and his health, now, is
stellar. He is growing in to quite a handsome young man. I am very proud to be his owner!
2007:
T-bolt is almost 4! It is hard to believe my first little cria, the tiny little llama that brought me so much
joy, is almost 4! He must be at least 6 feet at the base of his ears. He is, I think the biggest llama I own, he might be
topped by his dad but not by much!LOL
He has grown up so very much & turned into the best llama I've ever been around, 'course he always was. He
now lives in a huge pen with mom & brother. Mom is getting ready to have his full sister/brother and I can't wait to put
them under harness together, in about 4 years.
His coat is as dificult as ever to groom but I wouldn't trade his beautiful satan white coat for a coat
of pure gold! It is so beautiful when I finally do accomplish the task of grooming him.
Last year at fair he did pretty good, he had a little bobble in pack class (completely flipped out) but
other than that he did great. Him & his little brother were the stars of Pudgey Paw Acres last summer.
T-bolt is going to be put under harness this year. Cart training will start either this summer or this fall &
I should have him completely under harness & pulling a cart by the fall of 2008.
T-bolt has grown into a handsome & beautiful little poofy snow flake that brings me joy every time I handle
him!
2008:
T-bolt has grown up!! T-bolt has gotten so big, he towers above me & is a massive llama. His face is still,
so kind & his eyes beam with gentleness. He is still a big baby who relishes gentle attention. He lets me walk by him
& hug his rump while he's eating his dinner. He hasn't been handled since about November, so he will be quite a handful
in the spring. He, of all the llamas, the little baby who got hypothermia, he made it through all the harsh weather &
negative degrees, better than any animal on the place. His coat is dence & fluffy & the whitest it's been since he
was a baby. He is in really good health & his joke bag is, as always, full. He makes me laugh when I am blue & he
brings a bright light to the cloudy days, at Pudgey Paw Acres. He is raising his little sister, right now, before she goes
to her permanent home. He's doing a good job, too. He has been started under harness, but I dought he remembers ANYTHING.
I began ground driving, last fall & he hasn't had a lesson since about November...however, I did get the cart on him,
before the weather got to bad. T-bolt, this year, will probably march in a few parades & he will most assuradely, grace
the new fair with his adorable presence. He is going out of state, this year to bring Llamas to a whole new crowd! T-bolt
has so much promise & a lot of life ahead of him, no doubt, I will see to it he learns every possible thing, a llama can
learn!LOL
2009:
T-bolt has made it through the long, long winter. He has grown his gorgeous white fleece out, again & he
is looking really good. The now, almost 6 year old, T-bolt is a large, in charge, cuddly ham! He is as sweet now as when he
was a baby. He is looking forward to a long summer/fall out on the property where he will probably get eat to much & get
fat!LOL
This year, T-bolt will be walking in one parade for sure, maybe two-depends on my work schedule. For this year's
parade(s) I have something special planned. I am going to dye T-bolt, yes I said DYE that's not a typo! T-bolt's fleece is
so white so it is very conducive to dying. I plan to dye his fleece red & blue, with koolaid, before the parade(s)!LOL
To match, I will dye a t-shirt dress, for myself & it will be a wild, tie-dye, patriotic entry in the parade. Definitely,
something the parade goers won't forget!
T-bolt will also be doing Fair this year, the local Fair. T-bolt's cart training
has come to an end. I have thought about it & as T-bolt ages, he is becoming more & more susceptible to arthritis
& joint deformity, due to his conformation. The added weight of the cart & stress of pulling it, on his bones, could
cause him to have joint problems earlier. So, I have decided T-bolt is my beloved furry white teddy bear, there is no reason
to cut his life short because I want him to pull a cart. T-bolt will not be engaging in strenuous tasks, if I can avoid it.
I want T-bolt to be off pain killers & comfortable as long as possible & if that means no packing or no carting, that's
exactly what will be avoided! So for '09, T-bolt's outlook is pretty good, there's lots of fun in his future!
